Don Francesco is an artisanal cured meat production company that is based and operates in Stigliano, a municipality in Basilicata in the Province of Matera.

In Stigliano, Salumificio Don Francesco has a cured meat processing and production laboratory and a sales point, both in the center of the town. Founded in 1969, the company boasted the Don Francesco brand in 2008 to characterize its products on the market, taking maximum care of their quality and food safety.

Breeding

Don Francesco cured meats come from a production chain entirely controlled by the company which starts from the selection of the quality of pork meat coming only from local farms and from its own organic pig farm.

All farms are conducted in an uncontaminated territory with pigs that spend most of their lives free to graze to ensure maximum animal welfare. Among the breeds raised there is also the renowned Lucanian black pig.
